Exhibition stand design in Paris: a trade fair aisle with gilded pieces on plinths under spotlights

Exhibition stand design for trade shows and fairs, in Paris and abroad

You bring the product and a clear idea of who you hope to meet at the show. We design the stand around both and see it through from the first drawing to the breakdown.

Exhibition stand design turns a few square metres of hall floor into a place where your visitors stop, sit down and talk to you. Prodbox, an event production company in Paris, designs stands for trade shows, art fairs and fashion fairs, in Paris and abroad. Partner workshops build them, and the technical equipment is hired for each show. Boris Malesset, who founded Prodbox in 2018, has been producing shows and events since 1994.

Trade show booth design that reads from the aisle

Visitors walk the aisles quickly, glancing left and right, so your stand has a few steps in which to catch their eye. We approach trade show booth design from that walk: what they see from the aisle, where they step in, where they can sit with you away from the noise of the hall. Hall lighting falls flat from the roof, so the stand brings its own light, warm on faces and precise on the product. Behind the scenes there is room for stock, coats and a coffee machine, which your team will be glad of by the third day.

Exhibition stands in Paris, at trade shows, art fairs and fashion fairs

Each kind of show asks something different of the stand. A trade show brings buyers and partners, and the stand needs a table where business can be discussed in comfort. At an art fair the works set the pace, with plain walls, careful light and room to step back. Fashion fairs call for the collection within reach and a quieter corner for appointments. For high jewellery and fine watchmaking, the house arranges the transport and security of the pieces, and we take care of the sets, display furniture and their logistics through our network.

Designed by us, built by partner exhibition stand builders

We draw the stand, choose the materials with you and follow every stage of its production. The build itself goes to partner workshops, exhibition stand builders chosen for each project, and the lighting, sound and video equipment is hired from selected suppliers. Depending on the project, partner set designers join the work. Boris Malesset leads each stand with a loyal network of project managers, stage managers and technicians, and you keep one point of contact throughout. We contract the suppliers and you receive one invoice.

From the space you have booked to the last day of the show

  • The brief · the show, your space and its position in the hall, the products, the people you hope to meet.
  • The organiser's rules · the exhibitor manual sets height limits, fire-rated materials, rigging and deadlines; we build them into the plan from the start.
  • Design · layout, drawings, materials, lighting and furniture, then submission of the plans to the organiser.
  • Build · partner workshops make the stand while we book the hired equipment.
  • Build-up · installation in the hall on the days the organiser allows, lighting focus, final checks.
  • Breakdown · we take everything down within the organiser's time slot and hand the space back.

How long it takes

From the first meeting to the opening day, allow between six weeks and twelve months, depending on the size of the stand and the show. Organisers ask for plans and technical orders well before the build-up, so an early start leaves more choice of materials and workshops.

Between two shows

Your stand can be stored after the show and used again at the next one.

Frequently asked questions

What does trade show booth design include?

The layout of your space, the drawings, the materials, lighting, furniture and signage, then the build by partner workshops, the build-up in the hall and the breakdown at the end of the show. We also submit the plans to the organiser.

Are you exhibition stand builders?

We design the stand and run its production; partner workshops build it, and the technical equipment is hired from selected suppliers. You deal with one point of contact and receive one invoice.

How far ahead should we plan an exhibition stand?

Between six weeks and twelve months, depending on the size of the stand and the show. Organisers set early deadlines for plans and technical orders, so an early start gives you more choice.

How much does exhibition stand design cost?

It depends on the size of the space, the materials, the lighting and the equipment to hire. We build the budget line by line from your brief and negotiate prices with each supplier.

Do you design exhibition stands in Paris only?

We design stands for trade shows, art fairs and fashion fairs in Paris, and for shows abroad.

Your stand at a fair abroad

When the show takes place abroad, we prepare the stand in the same way, building the local organiser's rules and deadlines into the schedule. Depending on the show, your stand is built in France and shipped, or made on site by our partner workshops.

For the sets themselves, see our event set design work; if the show doubles as a launch for your house, the stand can carry on into a luxury brand activation. Tell us about your project, or write to prodbox.events@gmail.com or call +33 6 51 66 58 53 with the show, the dates and the space you have booked. We reply within 24 working hours.
